Security Controls At Newcastle Airport ... |

To gain entry into the Departure Lounges all travellers are required to pass through security control. This is where both the passenger themselves and their luggage are checked.
The passing through security points means travellers have to pass through an x-ray machine. All jackets, coats etc. have to be removed in advance and placed on the baggage x-ray conveyer belt. All metal items like mobiles, cameras, keys and coins need to be placed in a tray and they are screen separately.
Any passenger fitted with a pace maker, or in a wheelchair, will be given a hand search.
Any concerned pregnant woman can also request a hand search although the x-ray machine is perfectly safe.
At random, throughout the airport, passengers may be selected for hand searches. |
